National Days of Service
Two National Days of Service inspire thousands of individuals and organizations across the country to make volunteering part of their lives.
September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance
September 11th is Patriot Day and a National Day of Service and Remembrance. On this day Americans across the country are called to volunteer in their local communities in tribute to the individuals lost and injured in the attacks, first responders, and the many who have risen in service to defend freedom.
Martin Luther King, Jr., National Day of Service
The Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is a defining moment each year when Americans step up to take action to create the Beloved Community of Dr. King’s dream. MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service, and AmeriCorps has led this effort for the past quarter century.
