Tannikka Richardson
Director, Public Engagement
Richardson joins AmeriCorps after more than 20 years working with the US Department of Defense, and its Defense Information Systems Agency. Richardson served as the communication lead for the five-year Base Realignment and Closure Act effort, moving the agency from Northern Virginia to Fort Meade, Maryland. Richardson also served as event planning lead for the agency’s annual conference and as manager of the DISA Adopt-A-School program.
A Washington, DC, native, Richardson graduated from St. John’s College High School before attending Seton Hall University, where she earned an English degree. Richardson went on to earn her master’s degree in community planning from University of Maryland College Park.
Richardson is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and Reid Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church in Glenn Dale, Maryland.
