As we close in on nearly 90 days since the new year began, now is the perfect time to reflect on those new year resolutions made in a flurry of end-of-year celebrations. Maybe you vowed to improve yourself, physically or emotionally, or perhaps you pledged to make a positive impact in the world around you, like the millions of Americans who chose to serve with AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps Seniors. Now is the time to commit to keeping those resolutions going beyond January 10, that's dubbed "Quitter's Day."

Whether you are determined to make a fresh start in an exciting new career or improve your community and others around the world, national service is an opportunity to keep your resolutions going strong. From March 9 – 15, the nation celebrates AmeriCorps Week to recognize the thousands of Americans who pledge to serve their communities and others. AmeriCorps connects them to their cause and proudly serves as a bridge between good intentions and success stories. We will honor the millions of AmeriCorps participants who have contributed billions of hours of results-driven service across all 50 states and U.S. territories, creating lasting impact in communities nationwide.

AmeriCorps Works for America

AmeriCorps Week is an annual observance that recognizes the dedication and accomplishments of AmeriCorps members and volunteers serving in programs nationwide. From a pioneering group of 20,000 Americans who first raised their hands to serve, AmeriCorps has grown into a nationwide force for positive change with more than 200,000 members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers serving today, and more than 1.3 million alumni.

AmeriCorps has demonstrated the power of service and how it's a triple win for our nation. Communities gain dedicated support for critical needs while organizations expand their reach and impact. And those who serve discover that in changing lives, they transform their own. AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers addressed local challenges with local solutions in key areas, including education, economic opportunity, disaster services, environmental stewardship, healthy futures, and veterans and military families.

Every dollar planted in service grows seventeen-fold in our communities. This isn't just investment—it's transformation. Independent studies on AmeriCorps revealed that national service returns up to $17 for every federal dollar invested. Investing in AmeriCorps means investing in sustainable community solutions, public-private partnerships that multiply impact, evidence-based programs with proven results, and local wisdom in solving local challenges. Because in communities across the country – urban and rural – AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers provide on-the-ground support to essential community programs in schools, food banks, homeless shelters, youth organizations, veterans' facilities, and other nonprofit, tribal, and faith-based organizations.
